Corey Taylor talks about Dimebag
December 9th, 2004 @ 3:36 pm

Corey Taylor on Dimebag:

“He could take a riff that would take somebody a year to master and he could rip it off in seconds. He made everything look like he was playing ‘Smoke on the Water’ with one finger.

He was one of the coolest people I’ve ever met. The guy just loved to laugh and he loved to make you laugh. And he loved to make you do something that you would never do in a million years. He was a guy that lived in the moment. His philosophy was, ‘Let’s do something that is gonna make us remember tonight for the rest of our lives.’ And that’s something I’m gonna fucking miss for the rest of mine.”

Yeah, I give my respects to Dime too as one of the greatest of the greats. Corey gave well spoken fucking speech too. Evem if you don’t like Damageplan or Pantera, you have to take a moment to give your respects to a great guitarist and person. Can’t forget all the other people that got shot to that cock sucking mother fucker.
    RIP: Dime. Peace out everyone.

It´s fucking sad man! When I first heard I was crushed. Dime was one of the Best and I still can´t believe he´s gone, though he will always be remembered through the music he created.
    Bless his family and friends

we all must realize what is going on here, we have lost a legend to metal music. we have lost one of the greatest guitarists ever.

dime bag darrel, and tupac shakur don’t fit in the same sentence except in the one i just stated. a MeTaL legend should not be compared with a talentless rapper…

    R.I.P. DimeBag

How can you say Dimebag was no tupac? For his industry Dimebag did more than Shakur ever did for his. Do you know how many young fuckers like me picked up the guitar just because they heard Domination, or Cemetary fucking gates? How dare you have the audacity to say something like that in the wake of this tragedy. R.I.P. Dime you were the best

    and also well said Corey…..

2-pac was talentless, it does not take anything to rap, the words don’t even techinically rhyme half of the time, and the fact of the matter is that dimebag died, tupac sucked, he should have died, and he did, which was worth appraisal. dimebag on the other hand was an absolute amazing guitarist, and this isn’t about 2-pac, this is about someone doing something way better then 2-pac could have ever done.

Yeah well said Corey. I broke down in tears when I heard the news. I was sick to my stomach, went to the Fear Factory gig that night but could not enjoy it as much as I would have due to Dimebag being on my mind. Still has not sunk in yet. We have a lost a legend.
R.I.P DIMEBAG. WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU DUDE. YOU WILL BE MISSED

What is wrong with some of you guys? It was stupid enough to say Dimebag was no 2-Pac, and just as stupid to rag on 2-Pac. 2-Pac was a lengendary rapper that opened the eyes of the world to the struggle of the everyday struggles of the down-and-out. He was considered by many one of the most revolutionary rappers to grace the planet. Dimebag was an absolutely phenominal guitarist that with the help of Phil, Rex, and his brother Vinnie, changed the rock ‘n’ roll landscape forever. He practically re-wrote the book on metal guitar. 2-Pac was just as much as an influence to young rappers as Dimebag was to young guitarist, musicians, and metal-heads alike. They are both incredibly talented people that will be missed by their fans.

    R.I.P Dimebag & R.I.P 2-Pac.

I read an interview with one of his friends, (i dont remember his name) but he said that he thought Dimebags nickname was ironic, because the entire time he knew him, he never ONCE saw him smoke pot.

    Ok chris,
im nto trying to be an ass but. First off your not gonna kill anyone. I mean Losing Dimebag is a horrible tragic fucked up thing that has happened. But where in the fuck do u get off talkin about black people like that? There are some black metal singers, and rap can’t be all that bad i mean, doesn’t slipknot mention Chuck D in their song? and..umh, last time i checked..ya know turn tables where big in the rap world. Slipknot is a combination of everything so i really dont think its funny or fair to talk about black people like that. or rappers i mean. I kno for a fact most of them probably get laid way more than you ever will, and im pretty sure none of them would talk about metal heads and say shit liek that. Its a bad thing when anyone dies(except jesus) but umh…Can u just keep it clean and on the subject..? i mean. This is about Dimebag. not ur own personal problems with a whole fuckin race…
