Director Thomas Mignone known for his groundbreaking video work in the metal world (Sepultura, Megadeth, Mudvayne, Cradle Of Filth, System Of A Down) recently told E.S. Day of Abort Magazine that the members of SLIPKNOT have many times gone before their audience without their trademark adornments and remained virtually unrecognized.
Says Mignone, "I can't tell you how many shows, at least a hundred shows where I shot at or attended, where the band set up their own gear (unmasked) right in front of their fans and nobody had a clue that that was the band. I mean, they're talking to fans and have fans interacting, helping set up the drums and speaking with them and didn't know it was them."

Union Board (UB) announced on Wednesday, March 21, that heavy metal rock band SLIPKNOT will replace O.A.R. as the headlining band for this spring’s "Big Show". The announcement comes less than a month after UB announced O.A.R. for the annual spring concert event.
"The decision to drop O.A.R. was strictly based on numbers," said Jennifer Schreer, Union Board advisor. "We want everyone on campus to show up for the concert at the end of the year, and the best band available at the time to draw such a crowd was SlipKnot."
According to Marc Roburge, O.A.R.’s lead singer, the band was not surprised that SLIPKNOT was chosen to replace them.

Corey Taylor may be the vocalist in a band bigger than Stone Sour,
but it is becoming too active to be labeled a "side project."
Taylor's 2007 calendar includes no commitments to SLIPKNOT, the
nine-member, Iowa-based metal act that's issued three platinum-selling
albums since 1999.
Stone Sour -- which features another "Knot" band mate, guitarist
James Root -- will perform Wednesday at the Murat Egyptian Room
as part of the Jagermeister Music Tour.
The band, touring to promote its "Come What(ever) May" album,
played a string of dates in Canada earlier this year and Stone Sour's
summer will include a headlining trek in Europe.

SLIPKNOT front man Corey Taylor has blasted the media for devoting coverage to troubled stars including Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan. The rocker is fed up with the publicity given to the likes of "pig" Spears.
Taylor, 33, says, "(Britney is) a pig and needs to give it up. People have this fascination with mediocrity and gross displays of bullshit. It's everywhere. People are intrigued by popular people, but that shit is so precarious it can be gone tomorrow". "The fact that the public are mesmerized by Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and all these miserable people makes me laugh because those celebrities are more miserable than the people reading about them for escapism."

Guitarist Jim Root says he feels 'a lot more comfortable' with Stone Sour than with Slipknot !
"We're closer friends in Stone Sour than I am with the guys in Slipknot and that makes life a lot easier. I'm not trying to take anything away from Slipknot."
While Root is still a proud to be a member of the band, he doesn't hide the fact that life in five-man Stone Sour is far more enjoyable.
"In a nine-piece-band is one guy gonna call up eight guys and have a 45-minute discussion about every decision? No. So things are a lot more democratic in Stone Sour . Plus, we're closer and it's a lot easier to communicate. "
